Andriana Treasure

Born in Macedonia. Travelled widely in Western and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Northern Africa. Completed an Honours Degree in Economics.

 

Arrived in Australia 1983 and studied textiles at Riverina Campus.

Moved to Fremantle in 1988. Completed Advanced Certificate of Art and Design at Fremantle Tech (awards in Painting and Design). Studied at Claremont School of Art.
Numerous solo and group exhibitions from 1993 -> 2008, including the following:

 

 

 

o       Group exhibitions at New Collectables, Moores Building, Van Hall Galleries, Old Church
Gallery. Sponsor’s award at Telecom Acquisitive Art Exhibition.

o       Completed ten life-size portraits used in the film “The Virgin Canvas”.

o       December 1993: Solo exhibition: “Ten Years and Ten Thousand Miles”; recollections of life in Macedonia and a response to the Yugoslav wars.

o       November 1994: “Panagur”; an exhibition of Byzantine Icons (with Stefan Adamache). Modern and traditional interpretations of the genre.

o       July 1995: “The Nude, The Hat”; encaustic nudes in group exhibition with Adelheid Stelter.

o       August 1995: “International Work In Progress”; Australian contribution to international Jimi Hendrix collaboration.

o       November 1995: “Romeo & Juliet”; Festival Fremantle group exhibition on romance and love.

o       May 1996: “No Place Like Home”; Moores Building. Group exhibition on national and individual identity.

o       March 1997: “19 Clones by Andriana Treasure”: Inaugural exhibition at Kulcha covering the ethics of cloning.

o       April 1997: “Storm of Flowers”; Solo exhibition on drama and flowers.

o       August 1997: “Art to Eat By”; Solo exhibition at Sheraton Perth Hotel featuring still life oils.

o       November 1997: “Unfinished Journey”; Solo exhibition on completion and non-completion.

o       March - May 1998: Artist in Residence at Sheraton Perth Hotel

o       July 1999: "What Happened to Beauty?"; Solo exhibition at the Treasure Gallery

o       November 1999: "Charm"; Solo exhibition at the Treasure Gallery

o       September 2001: "Funhouse"; Solo at the Treasure Gallery on architecture and whimsy.

o       December 2001: Published her first book, "Women", a collection of portraits.

o       July 2003: “Cushion and Comfort” exhibition with Donalea Patman at the Treasure Gallery

o       August 2005: “Being at Home”; Solo exhibition at the Treasure Gallery

o       May 2008: “MMM – Redemption”; Solo exhibition at the Treasure Gallery
